Wild Parrot Survey

Estero Llano Grande State Park will be counting Red-crowned Parrots as they gather in flocks to roost for the night. Red-crowned Parrots are a species of conservation concern for Texas. Surveyors will watch and listen for parrots at known roosting areas in different parts of the valley. The goal is to estimate the total number of birds in each area at one time.
